The Agriculture and Rural Development Day 2010 chooses the African Press Organization (APO) as media partner
A consortium regrouping the World Bank, the World Food Program (WFP), the European Commission, the International Fund for Agriculture development (IFAD), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) has chosen the African Press Organization (APO) as the media partner for the Agriculture and Rural Development Day 2010 which will take place in Cancun, Mexico, the 4th of December 2010.
The APO will be in charge of the distribution of press releases regarding the event to African and international media.
"The press releases concerning the Agriculture and Rural Development Day 2010 will systematically be distributed to the online data base of press releases, APO-Source, as well as to our partners’ websites: PR Newswire, LexisNexis, BurellesLuce, StarAfrica.com , A24 Media, Afrik.com and Afrik-news.com. About 500 policymakers and negotiators, journalists, rural development practitioners, farmers, civil society and the agriculture and climate change scientific community will meet in Cancun, Mexico, the 4th of December, 2010 during the Agriculture and Rural Development Day 2010, organized by a consortium regrouping mainly the Consultative Group on International, agricultural Research (CGIAR), the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development, the African Development Bank (AfDB), International Fund for Agricultural Development (specialized agency of the United Nations) the World Food Program (WFP), the European Commission, the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), the International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Oxfam International, and the University of Leeds.
